The South Charlotte neighborhoods of High Grove and Providence Plantation are served by some of the Charlotte area's best public schools, along with a number of private education options.
Hawk Ridge Elementary was named a national Blue Ribbon School, and received the state's highest ranking as an Honor School of Excellence. Providence Spring Elementary opened in 2002, offering state-of-the-art facilities. Community House Middle is also a brand new facility, with curriculum emphasizing music and the arts. Crestdale Middle was designated as a School of Excellence in its first year, and as Exemplary the next year.
Providence High, which serves Providence Plantation, has received the Blue Ribbon of Excellence award, and is a three-time recipient of the N.C. Wachovia Cup. High Grove students currently attend South Mecklenburg High, but will attend Ardrey Kell High when it opens in August 2006.
